🎯 The 3-Second Rule
When ducks are working, pause for 3 seconds between calling sequences. Constant calling is unnatural. Real hens call, then feed, then call again. Give birds time to respond.
🔊 Volume Matching
Match your volume to the birds' distance. Hail call at 200 yards, greeting at 100, feed call at 50. Nothing spooks ducks faster than screaming at birds that are already committed.
👂 Listen Before You Call
Spend your first hunts of the season just listening to real hens. Record them on your phone. Those natural rhythms and cadences should be your template, not YouTube videos.
